Dogs on The Isle of Wight

As you would expect, guide and assistance dogs are welcome across the Island.

The Isle of Wight is very dog-friendly.  Unless a shop sells food or there are health and safety reasons why animals should not enter, on the whole the Island permits dogs entry to most shops, pubs and attractions as long as they are well controlled and on a lead.

Please check with your accommodation provider before bringing your pooch on holiday with you to ensure they can take pets.

Dogs are welcome on all beaches (excluding Whitecliff Bay) but do remember at peak season (31st  May to 31st October) restrictions are in place where dogs are not permitted on tourist beaches.

Please see the following link to find dog friendly beaches and those which have restrictions:

Lastly: please remember to bag and bin to keep the Island clean!  Dog poop bins are placed all over the Island so please use them – Thank you!
